Gravel Fest 350
Gravel Fest 350 is a 7-day 350 km gravel riding challenge from May 15-21, 2023.
It’s a week long festival celebrating dirt roads, riding buddies, and our faithful right to ride often and ride far. And we look to spread gratitude and awareness for nurses along the way — because not all heroes wear capes!

STRAVA CLUB
Becoming a Nurse Is One of the Most Selfless Acts a Person Can Undertake
In a society of so many different races, cultures, customs, and beliefs, nurses are a universal gift to all, and the dedicated work that they do and the kindness they deliver on a daily basis should serve as a reminder of the fundamental humanity inside us all.
60% of RNs work in hospitals, with 18% in ambulatory care, 7% in nursing and residential care facilities, 5% in government, and 3% in educational services.
A third of nurses plan to leave their jobs in 2022, a survey finds.
Burnout and stress from working throughout the COVID-19 pandemic are taking a major toll on nurses and it could lead many of them to quit their jobs.
The nursing shortage is due in part to the rapid 73% increase of the 65+ population, which grew from 41 million in 2011 to 71 million in 2019.
In Gallup polls, nurses have been identified as the most honest and ethical professionals for the past 19 years.
They won 89% of the vote in 2020.
“When I think about all the patients and their loved ones I have worked with over the years, I know most of them don’t remember me, nor I them. But I do know that I gave a little piece of myself to each of them, and they to me, and those threads make up the tapestry that is my career in nursing.” —Donna Wilk Cardillo

Gravel Fest: Steamboat
Ride Schedule
DETAILS:
The town of Steamboat Springs provides an ideal base camp, and the surrounding dirt roads of Northwest Colorado offer some of the best gravel riding in the state!
Each day’s ride departs as one group. For the first 30-minutes of the ride, the pace is meant to be “social” — we want all rider abilities to have a chance to ride together during this time. After that, it turns into a “friendly/spirited pace!” We encourage multiple re-groupings throughout the ride but don’t count on it.
With that being said, you are ultimately responsible for directions. We recommend you download the routes onto a GPS device before the ride.
The groups will naturally split and we will eventually meet back in Steamboat for a social/story hour at a local brewery.
Here’s what to expect:
- A daily group ride
- Informal post-ride social hour (limited seating)
- Ride on your own time. Routes are available from The Dirty Roads
